Biography

kAMO is an authentic and legitimate street artist. He defines himself not as an artist but a graffiti artist and revolutionary. What motivates him refers to the violence in which the world is drowning. For him, the real graffiti artist creates militant acts carrying political messages in the very broad sense of the term. He has just agreed to exhibit in galleries less to satisfy his ego than to overcome the frustration he felt with artists from the ENSBA or elsewhere and who seize the codes of graffiti without accept and understand its spirit, meaning and scope. Faced with those who play with the aestheticism of the urban, the artist has agreed to take this step to show the truth of a suburban practice. Kamo has been swimming there since 1995. Little by little, he gained in conviction. He knows that the "vandals" of the modern world have more legitimacy than those who use an aesthetic without accepting the game. He, on the contrary, accepts it. Collective at the start, his ambition is not reduced over time to the chagrin of the ego. For example, he shares his next posters with another graffiti artist (dexun).
