Biography
Rachel Lamothe is a French artist born in 1961.
After taking night classes at the School of Fine Arts of Poitiers and Reims in order to master the classical techniques of drawing, sculpting and watercolor, Rachel Lamothe became interested in oil painting. She started painting figurative pieces, depicting mostly women's backs or profiles.
But she finally preferred the abstract style, which she applied to her artistic research as a revelation. She works the addition of material and transparencies with a knife, using sucessive layers of acrylic and vynil binders.
