Biography
Christine Thibaud is a self-taught artist born in Suresnes, 1964. She currently lives and works in Brittany.
Christine Thibaud uses painting and mixed techniques to question the problems of existance, and nourishes a dialogue about human emotions. She puts ordinary objects in her paintings, whose presence disturbs because of the use attributed to them. The artist puts in question the symbols and codes of our society, those that are anchored in our unconscious, so much that they seem natural to us.
Tissues, books, boxes, recycled, recovered, abandoned and altered objects...... is just some of the material she uses to clam her creative impulses. Christine Thibaud tries to scape conventions through her artwork, and to extract pre-stablished structures. In other words she seeks freedom.
Chirstine Thibaud exhibits regularly in France since 2006.
