Biography
Wu You is a Chinese contemporary artist born in 1975 who lives and works in Beijing, China. He studied at Tsinghua University and learned from one of the most famous Chinese ink masters, Wang Yangming. He is the founder of the Beijing Rui Mang space known for its commitment to promoting many cultural programs in China.
Wu's paintings as well as his sculptural works focus on exploring the image of feelings that have captivated his artistic experience. Representing traditional motifs, his paintings have retained figurative elements with distorted figures. The use of ink splashes, calligraphic lines and intense colors suggest a spontaneity that expresses her emotion and feelings of the moment.
