

Painting is an active meditation that combines action and reflection in a simultaneous time, in a meeting with oneself, of which the work would be the echo.
Biography
Pierre Marescau is a French painter born in Oise in 1947.
In 1963, he entered the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Appliqués à l'Industrie on Rue du Petit Thouars in Paris’ 3rd arrondissement. He received the painting prize in 1967.
His work has been exhibited in several Parisian galleries located in the 3rd, 5th, 7th, and 20th arrondissements.
In 2008, and in his own words, he "went underground" by moving to live and work in the Aubusson region of Creuse. There, he met master weaver Bernard Battu, who wove several of his works. One of these pieces entered the collections of the Cité Internationale de la Tapisserie in Aubusson in 2023.
His work is currently represented by Galerie Faidherbe in Paris, Galerie Jabert, and Galerie Le Libre Regard in Aubusson.
In 2024, he is setting up a new studio in Vétheuil in Val d'Oise.
