Description
This captivating artwork features an energetic dance of color and form. Bold black and white brushstrokes dominate the center, evoking a dynamic fusion of movement. The background, rich in earthy hues of brown and ochre, adds an organic and lively depth. The contrasts between dark and light colors create a thrilling visual tension, drawing the eye toward the heart of the composition. The varied textures and gestural application of the paint demonstrate impressive technical mastery. The whole exudes a raw intensity and palpable emotion, inviting the viewer to immerse themselves in a personal interpretation of the work. This painting is distinguished by its balance between chaos and harmony, offering a visual experience that evolves with each glance.
Presentation
Pierre Marescau is a French painter born in Oise in 1947.
In 1963, he entered the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Appliqués à l'Industrie on Rue du Petit Thouars in Paris’ 3rd arrondissement. He received the painting prize in 1967.
His work has been exhibited in several Parisian galleries located in the 3rd, 5th, 7th, and 20th arrondissements.
In 2008, and in his own words, he "went underground" by moving to live and work in the Aubusson region of Creuse. There, he met master weaver Bernard Battu, who wove several of his works. One of these pieces entered the collections of the Cité Internationale de la Tapisserie in Aubusson in 2023.
His work is currently represented by Galerie Faidherbe in Paris, Galerie Jabert, and Galerie Le Libre Regard in Aubusson.
In 2024, he is setting up a new studio in Vétheuil in Val d'Oise.
