Biography

Potter, sculptor, painter and builder, Jean Linard, born in 1931, began his professional life in Paris as an engraver, but soon the call of the earth made itself felt.

In 1959, he settled as a potter in La Borne with the Danish-born ceramist Anne Kjaersgaard, whom he married in 1964.

Turning was then Jean Linard's main production with the creation of bowls, plates, cups, salad bowls, dishes, pitchers, mazagrans and vases.

He makes his own enamels from ashes, such as oak, straw or vine ashes, in order to obtain creamy whites, pinks, celadon greens and blues.

Linard spent his entire life working with stoneware, raku, iron, mosaic, and cement.
