Biography
Fay Goyarts is a Dutch contemporary artist currently based in Rotterdam. She holds a BA in Art History from the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and an MA in Business and Media from Erasmus University Rotterdam.
In 2021, Goyarts decided to translate her theoretical knowledge of art into practice and retrained as an artist. She works primarily with oil paint and ceramics.
From 2016 to 2023, she lived and worked in Mexico City, where she was deeply influenced by the city's rich cultural heritage and cosmopolitan character. In her work, Goyarts explores how people from different cultural backgrounds interact and how identity is perceived and valued in an era of globalization. At the same time, her practice offers a critical reflection on contemporary consumer society and the role social media plays within it.
