Biography
Maria Baranova was born in Moscow in 1979, she lives and works in New York city. She is graduated from Art School with a BA in Art Painting and later got a degree in Photography, both in Helsinki, Finland. Her photographs appeared with a variety of reviews in Artforum, American Theatre, Brooklyn Rail, New York Times, Huffington Post, Hyperallergic, Rolling Stone, The Guardian, The Wall Street Journal, Village Voice, Vogue among others. Outside of performance photography, Maria expands her work to still life, medium format film portraits, as well as street photography and darkroom printing.
