French painter inspired by Provence and Parisian landscapes, creating abstract works exploring the clash of nature and architecture.
Biography
Nicolas Maffre is a French painter. He spent his childhood in Provence and did a training in visual arts at Lettelier studio. He then turned towards painting, inspired by the shock of his homeland landscapes, but Parisian ones too.
These two landscapes are a major source of inspiration for him. One can sense an opposition between these two worlds, his two pasts. The natural landscapes and Man-made architecture in Paris, triggers a battle between images and feelings, which lead to blurry images which the artist loves for his abstract creations.
Nicolas Maffre exhibits in Paris, Lyon and Strasbourg.
