Description
This abstract artwork presents a harmonious marriage of geometric shapes and shades of blue. The rectangular forms appear to float in an ethereal space, creating a sense of movement and depth. The hues range from light blue to dark gray, adding a dimension of subtle contrast and visual dynamism. These forms, though separate, seem to converse with one another, highlighting a carefully balanced composition. The hazy, almost celestial background reinforces the impression of a scene suspended in time. Each form appears to be illuminated from within, lending a luminous quality to the whole. The absence of figurative details emphasizes the purity of the design and the freedom of interpretation, inviting the viewer to explore their own emotions and thoughts in response to this composition.
Presentation
Nicolas Maffre is a French painter. He spent his childhood in Provence and did a training in visual arts at Lettelier studio. He then turned towards painting, inspired by the shock of his homeland landscapes, but Parisian ones too.
These two landscapes are a major source of inspiration for him. One can sense an opposition between these two worlds, his two pasts. The natural landscapes and Man-made architecture in Paris, triggers a battle between images and feelings, which lead to blurry images which the artist loves for his abstract creations.
