Jia Aili

Jia Aili is a Chinese surrealist artist born in 1979. He was both a student and teacher at the Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts. 

Aili's paintings draw on ancient Chinese drawings, embodying the fluidity and naturalism of the era. He utilizes dramatic compositions and chiaroscuro techniques to create his large-scale, abstract paintings. 

Solo exhibitions of Aili's work have been held at the Gagosian, New York (2019), CAC Malaga (2017) and Singapore Art Museum (2012).
