Jean-Paul Baret

Jean-Paul Baret was born in 1952 in Grenoble. He lives and works in Viriville / France.

After studying interior architecture at the School of Decorative Arts in Geneva, he made ten group exhibitions and set up his interior architecture firm. In parallel he continues his work of creations in the continuity of movements such as those initiated by Constructivism, Neoplasticism, Bauhaus, De Stijl etc ...

About ten years follow, during which he pursues his two parallel activities. Since 2010, he has been working mainly on “photographic images”. These are made from photos of “ephemeral sculptures” in paper of different texture and then reworked on a computer.

This is a research work on the built from simple elements (white sculptures) that can be either modified by color, grain or smoothness, the addition of geometric figures, dimensions, sharpness or the blur ... either remained "raw and minimalist".
