Biography
Rumen Sazdov was born in the town of Kyustendil, Bulgaria. He was influenced by the artistic environment from an early age, his mother, a well-known and awarded puppet theater director, recognized his artistic inclinations. After the art gymnasium in Sofia, he was followed by the art academy in Veliko Tarnovo, specializing in figurative painting. Rumen first visited Prague as a university student and settled here after winning the Ministry of Education's selection procedure for the art curriculum for secondary schools. The reward was the opportunity to be a drawing teacher at the Bulgarian School in Prague, where he taught for two years. Subsequently, he ran several galleries and devoted himself to free creation and often sold his paintings while still wet.
One of the important turning points in the artist's career was the moment when he was contacted by a representative of the Parisian agency *Claude Robert & Joël Millon. At that time, the owner of the agency Claude Robert characterized his painting as lyrical cubism. Several trips to Paris followed and the auction sale of dozens of paintings through the Drouot-Richelieu auction house. Thanks to the successful auction sale, he is registered in the MAYER auction catalog and in the Index of Artists on the world art market.
