The Animal Project commenced in 2018 when a loved one approached me with a request to sculpt Picasso’s beloved dog, “Lump.” As I embarked on this endeavour, I found myself increasingly captivated by the process and its challenges. The experience evoked a delightful blend of playfulness and excitement, as I had the desire to channel the artistic essence of Picasso himself.
The overwhelmingly positive feedback and interest I received fuelled an intense excitement within me, prompting the launch of a larger-scale project. This undertaking aimed to create sculptures inspired by the masterpieces of renowned artists who have left an indelible mark on the world. While these artists such as Picasso, Miró, Chagall, and others are no longer with us, but their names resonate globally, and their artistic works endure as timeless treasures.
The project represents a profound collaboration between myself and these artists. By translating their iconic two-dimensional paintings into tangible, three-dimensional sculptures. It is a mutual realization, where my interpretation is resulting in an artwork that embodies both the artist and myself.

Rebellious and spiritual, his works show a break with his original traditions, while denouncing the implacable consequences of ignorance on man: suffering, inevitably.
Through art, Mehnoush Modonpour becomes the messenger of an equality in which she believes. She explores through multiple media the relationship between humans, their environment, and everything in between.
