Description
This captivating sculpture depicts a reclining polar bear, its posture full of grace and tranquility, evoking the icy light of the Arctic landscape. The finely sculpted lines and details simulate the thick, downy texture of the animal's fur, while the fluid form captures the natural movement of its relaxed body. The bold choice of the upward-facing head orientation introduces a sense of curiosity or contemplative repose. Subtle nuances lend this piece extraordinary depth, highlighting both the majesty and fragility of the polar bear. This masterpiece embodies a powerful message about the beauty of Arctic wildlife, while offering a visually soothing and engaging aesthetic.
Presentation
Born in 1965, Sophie Larroche has been practicing modeling for over 20 years.
Always attracted by the visual arts, she attended many workshops. Painting, drawing and modeling of the earth, with a particular affection for the sketches of living models.
In 1999, it was in Danièle Dekeyser's studio that Sophie Larroche discovered profile sculpture in front of live models. For 4 years, she will work the earth only on the human body, in front of the models and on the anatomy boards. She seeks to reveal the beauty and emotion emanating from the bodies.
The environmental emergency upsets her and pushes her to get involved in a charity. His work as a sculptor is mixed with his personal investment: to challenge the beauty of nature and its fragility.
Sophie Larroche exhibits regularly in Art Fairs and Exhibitions. She meets a curious public and seduced by her sculptures loaded with emotions and splendor of our world.
