Playgroud Detroit presents Depth of Field, a group exhibition that explores the interaction between physical and mental space, featuring new works by Sheila Nicolin, Jackson E. Joyce and Michael Polakowski, this show challenges the nature of reality versus full-color experiences through a surrealist lens. Via brightly-colored and unsettlingly off-kilter images of the everyday, all three painters create emotive works that question the division between presence and dissociation; distraction and connection; day-dreaming and memory.
