The Galerie Maryam Ahi is pleased to announce the new exhibition Woman in Iranian Art: Time is for change.
Under-represented, in recent times I’ve seen an increase in women artists talents, but also in the measures implemented by fairs and their place in their favour. Also, women artists’ popularity is rising faster than that of their male counter- parts; and their work is affecting a new audience, one less acquainted with ‘mainstream’ contemporary art. This movement has grown with #metoo that came also to Iran. At the heart of the debate lies the determination to give women back the place that they deserve.

We wanted to show you the huge potential of female Iranian artists and also woman subject in Iranian contemporary art.
