Description
A circular form made of pigmented concrete floats unobtrusively against a blue background, housing a dynamic interplay of vibrant colours. The centre glows in a nuanced blue that blends seamlessly at the edges into bright shades of pink, red and green. This creates a striking colour gradient that suggests movement and depth. The precision of the colour blending and the quality of the light evoke a sense of both tranquillity and fascination. Through its seamless fusion of colours, the work challenges our perception of boundaries and demonstrates a masterful command of light, form and material. This work is distinguished by its ability to evoke an emotional response whilst maintaining an elegant simplicity.
Presentation
Selçuk Dizlek (born 1976 in Schweinfurt) studied at the Nuremberg Art Academy; he is a sculptor, but in his work groups he very subtly blurs the boundaries between painting, object, relief, sculpture, interaction and light art. Time and again, the line emerges as a unifying design element, whether as a sculptural space-occupying "drawing" or as luminous light tracks.
Dizlek's sculptures are geometrically abstract/concrete.
In his œuvre there is a variety of materials: plexiglass, metal, concrete, ceramic tiles and, above all, the fascination of "light", which is used as a sculptural material. Light boxes or sculptures, light steles or sculptures, and color space objects or reliefs made of reflective, fluorescent, and translucent materials such as Plexiglas have been a focus for many years.
