Presentation

Michał Bajsarowicz's exhibition Body: The Studies at Galeria Katarzyny Napiórkowskiej delves into the raw essence of the human form, blending physicality with profound emotional and spiritual inquiry.

Born in 1963, Michał Bajsarowicz graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań in 1992, earning his diploma in drawing under Professor B. Wegner. His multidisciplinary practice spans painting, graphics, and sculpture, with exhibitions across Poland and internationally in Germany, Belgium, Italy, Portugal, France, Austria, and Ukraine. Bajsarowicz's work channels an eruptive, introspective force that prioritizes existential depth over mere aesthetics.

Bajsarowicz centers his oeuvre on the human body, extracting figures from canvas voids with sketchy, guiding lines that merge the corporeal and spiritual. His large-scale paintings feature dynamic, expressive poses—erupting beyond frames or receding into meditative craters—where line drives narrative and color evokes mood, creating a pantomime of emotions without idealized beauty. This fusion of drawing and painting intrigues viewers, prompting contemplation of mental states, relationships, and the unretouched truths of existence.

Body: The Studies showcases Bajsarowicz's studies of human anatomy and psyche, emphasizing movement, texture, and unfiltered physicality as portals to mindfulness. Works intrigue rather than merely adorn, inviting audiences to explore the "here and now" of human space and time.
