It is with great pleasure that the Atelier Piece Unique welcomes for the third time the colorful universe of painter Pierre Wuillaume. After the funfairs, the urban scenes, the theme of this new solo exhibition is rather original: it is about sport. "I present a series of paintings on cycling, tennis," explains the painter. I evoke both the riders of the Tour de France and the children having fun on their bikes. But sport is not the main subject, it is for me a pretext to paint. I am first attracted by the colors and the compositions. The bright colors of the swimsuits and the equipment, the movements of the bodies inspire me to work full of dynamism. Through painting, I link sport and art, two worlds which are sometimes very far apart. Pierre Wuillaume also wishes to convey the very special sensations he experiences when he takes his bike. “Cycling is a quiet sport, we are in direct contact with nature. We hear all the sounds, we breathe all the smells. As soon as a landscape pleases us, we stop to admire it better. It is this harmony, this happiness of living that I evoke in my works, whatever the subjects. »In this new series, we find the invoice which makes the originality of the artist. Pierre Wuillaume decomposes the light by juxtaposing colored touches. Delicate blues, powerful reds, vitamin oranges illuminate the canvas. The painting vibrates with a singular energy.
