Biography

Born in 1928 in Mendoza, Argentina, Julio Le Parc has lived and worked in Paris since 1958. A major artist crowned with the Grand Prize at the Venice Biennale in 1966, Julio Le Parc occupies a unique place on the contemporary art scene as as a precursor of kinetic art .

In 2025, Julio Le Parc, a pioneer of kinetic art, is once again in the spotlight on the international art scene. Born in 1928 in Mendoza, Argentina, and based in Paris since 1958, the artist has continually pushed the boundaries of visual perception and artistic experimentation.

This year, his luminous and immersive artworks are on display in several major European galleries, including in Madrid and Paris, reaffirming his lasting influence on contemporary art. Nearly 60 years after winning the Grand Prize at the Venice Biennale in 1966, Julio Le Parc continues to captivate new generations with his radical approach to movement, light, and spatial interaction.
