Biography
Anthony White is an Australian artist born in Sydney, he currently lives and works in Paris. He graduated with a Bachelors degree in Fine Arts from the National Art School in Sydney and studied as well at the New York Studio School, Marathon Program in New York City.
Anthony White’s practice incorporates multiple disciplines including drawing, painting and collage. His pieces focus on the physical act of painting, on the gestures, the surface and on the cultural and historical issues of contemporary image making.
He explores various methods and techniques, including the Italian technique Pentimenti, a process of building up layers and allowing the earlier layers to be visible underneath; decollage, a process opposite of collage and déchirage.
