Born in Innsbruck on 09/14/1917; Died in Milan on 12/31/2007. Ettore Sottsass was born on September 14, 1917 in Innsbruck, Austria. Considered one of the greatest designers of the 20th century, he was a key figure in pre-war Italian art and architecture. This former student of Otto Wagner began his career as an architect with his father, Ettore Sottsass Sr., then opened his own agency in 1947. His work was mainly based on the play of lights and colors. , better definitions according to him of forms and spaces. He was involved in the design of the very first Italian computer, then designed several electric typewriters. From the 1970s, Ettore Sottsass devoted himself to drawing and writing. He also attached a lot of importance to his photography work, collaborated with some Italian magazines, and founded in 1973 Global Tools, a sort of counter-school of architecture / design. After numerous collaborations and awards, Ettore Sottsass has been exhibited in the greatest museums in the world. Remains of him a famous sentence: "The designer is a sponge, certainly, but a cosmic sponge". He died in Milan on December 31, 2007.
