Juliette Du Bois

I am passionate about abstract painting and have been painting and drawing for as long as I can remember. 

I work on colour and the balance of a composition from a simple splash of colour.

Everything starts from a fluke, from a winding on a path, from something we don't control, that we don't choose, from a non-rational sequence of small incidents that we try to master and sublimate throughout our lives.

My starting point is a "mistake", a random touch of the brush that I then try to control and magnify and to connect to other touches so that they interact.

I design all of my colours. I imagine games of light, shade and transparency.

With each new patch, the dynamics of the canvas are transformed in a perpetual quest for balance.
