Presentation

Born in 1967 in Guérande, Alexandra Gestin lives in Belgium.

After finishing her business studies, Alexandra Gestin left Paris in 1996 led by her growing desire to travel. On her return, she began painting in various media; a stay in Morocco revealed what will become her true passion: sculpture, which she will learns in the studios of Cendrine Paoli (Paris), Jean Coyette et Horizon Line (Brussels).

During a trip to Tokyo in 2005, she discovered sumo wrestling. Already sensitive to the curvaceous body of the children, the young artist is dazzled by the exuberant shapes of Japanese wrestlers who now dominate her artistic universe. Alexandra Gestin's sculptures are part of many private collections in Europe, the USA, Morocco, United Arab Emirates, Mexico, Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan...

All her sculptures are published in 8 copies and 4 artist's proofs.

"... His sculptures are only a reflection of this wonder and this continued exploration and transport us into a new world with centuries-sculptures. ... His sculptures exude a great artistic sensibility imbued with a fragility and goodness so well expressed in his work. "
Alain Dominique Perrin, creator and president of the Cartier Foundation for Contemporary Art
