Her international career began in 1982 with the exhibition Mito e Magia del Colore in Naples, Italy. In 1980, she and her husband moved to Campinas and opened the Casa de Arte Brasileira, a mixture of home, painting studio, school, and art gallery which brought much vitality to the local art scene until its closing in 1990.

In 1990, Edna and Zé Cordeiro travelled to Paris to carry out a joint exhibition at Maison de l'Unesco. Edna and Zé Cordeiro held one more joint exhibition at Galeria de Arte Almatea in Madrid (2000). Several shows were set up abroad in places such as Canada, France, Belgium, Greece, Sweden, Cabo Verde, Beirut and the United Arab Emirates. In 2010, she decided to return to Brazil.
