Daniel Vincent

He studied at the Professional School of Commercial Art and at Ahuntsic College in graphic design and illustration. He started painting in 1985. Joy, Beauty and Light are the invisible materials with which he works. 

With many years of experience in creation, he explores through acrylics the infinite variety of forms, textures and colors. Daniel Vincent, a native of Montreal, is an artist at heart. His love of art led him to discover acrylics in a self-taught way.  The wonder of the extraordinary duality of contrasts that manage to co-exist! Daniel Vincent's paintings emerge with a softness. 

His luminous palette combined with his nervous and precise gestures give birth to scenes of relaxation and emotions. Stimulating works of colors. Many of his works are sold in Quebec, France, Mexico and the United States. 

"Painting is for me a passion, an escape, an irresistible adventure constantly renewed! A constant research in the analysis of forms and colors results in sunny and fresh paintings. Ultimately, these bright colors are matched only by my joy of living. 

I paint to put a touch of humor and color in my life and those of others. The light in my paintings allows me to discover the beauty that sometimes humans forget! For 20 years I have been exploring color, shapes, and the emotion suggested by the image.

I feel a great need to express myself through creation, because to inspire is to inspire me and to exhale is to express all the colors that make me an artist at heart!

My paintings include scenes where the subjects interact with the color and movement created by a direct approach at the beginning. This approach allows me to include a dynamic of chance that I favor throughout my production, because from this chance comes the desire to push further visually and never stop exploring.

From an emotional connection with the subject, my imagination expresses itself in figurative ways starting from an idea, a moment, a texture. Working quickly but carefully, I seek a balance between spontaneity and control.

My approach begins with the play of chance, accident, distorted canvases and flowing paint. I have fun with the material and I pass my moods through it. Painting remains for me the space where I feel the most free.  I savor the present moment while creating a painting and it becomes a kind of meditation.

The emotions of my life, love, the small pleasures of life impregnated with bright colors and sensuality is what the viewer will discover by lingering in my paintings. Wonder at the extraordinary duality of contrasts that manage to coexist!
