Allan Grant, born in 1919 in the United States, is a renowned press photographer. He works for Life magazine, where he produces many significant photo essays.
In 1950, he photographed Marilyn Monroe on the set of the film Clash by Night. His photos, taken in a natural way, reveal a more authentic and spontaneous Marilyn.
These images became some of the actress's most famous. Grant captured both the glamour and the vulnerability of the star. His work illustrates the role of photography in the construction of the Marilyn myth.
