Biography
Shi Yan (b. 1978) has intellectual disabilities. She loves Peking Opera and Shaoxing opera, and has never gotten any art training. However she painted a lot of very charming figures that were similar to the figures from Chinese Opera. Viewers will be attracted by the eyes of these figure at first glance, and the eyes are like the open doors to the heart. These open doors are the symbol of yearning for communicating with outside world and the invitation of coming to her heart.
