Biography
It was in college, after being harassed by the children in his class that he was diagnosed with autism. After discovering his interest in drawing, his parents bought him a manual to learn how to draw. Then he joined the Outsider Art Workshop in Nanking. After a year, he creates his own world. His work, inspired by photos taken with his phone is totally personal, fruit of his imagination, a mysterious reflection of his inner world. Here we are touching the essence of Art Brut as defined by Dubuffet, that is to say, a creation free from aesthetic and intellectual influence, a form of “original purity”. Ping Fang enjoys living in a world where he cannot be disturbed and always works with the radio in order to ward off aggression from the outside.
