Jaroslav Hudes is a Prague-based academic artist whose work captures the through a distinct expressionistic lens. Specializing in watercolors and intimate, smaller-scale paintings, Hudes focuses on the intersection of historic charm and modern urban life. His work is characterized by fluid, emotive brushwork that seeks to evoke the atmosphere of Prague's narrow alleys and sweeping cityscapes rather than providing a literal architectural record.
Along with the watercolors and paintings of Prague, Jaroslav Hudes creates floral watercolors and urban views of other towns and cities, but those are rarely seen in his collections.
Regarded as one of the most distinctive Czech artists working today, Hudes has established a significant presence within the contemporary art scene. His artworks are kept in corporate, state, and private collections worldwide. His ability to translate the bustling spirit of the Czech capital into delicate yet vibrant compositions has led to his work being held in prestigious corporate, state, and private collections.
