Presentation
Eyasu Telayneh was born in Bahin Dar, Ethiopia, in 1993. He developed his interest in art by helping his brother with his art homework, which was highly appreciated by his teachers. He joined the School of Fine Arts and Design of Addis Ababa University, then the School of Fine Arts and Design of Ale in 2017. He works as a full-time artist in his studio on Entoto Mountain.
Telayneh's practice reflects his interest in mathematics and physics, with particular emphasis on geometry, form and color synthesis as a means of constructing a picture plane and making sense of the reality that is often in contradiction with perfection.
Telayneh is the winner of the 2020 Emerging Painters Invitational award. His works have been exhibited at Alliance Ethio-Française, Barnard Gallery in Capetown and Circle Gallery in Nairobi.
