Presentation

Ronceval shapes wildlife by drawing on telluric forces. Under his fingers are born felines, rhinos, gorillas, or other animals more familiar in our latitudes, and sometimes men. He works with chamotte sandstone for its raw appearance and fire resistance. Once baked at 950 degrees, his pieces are placed in a large fire whose smoke will tint the earth with shades ranging from light gray to deep black. This smoking, combined with metallic oxide patinas, is a decisive step and it is the degree of mastery of this random operation that will determine the final appearance of the work.

Behind this pseudonym hides a young self-taught sculptor who already collaborates with several galleries, with a bright artistic future.
