Mona Colombia

Mona Colombia is a Franco-Colombian painter whose universe is rooted in the richness of the cultures and landscapes of South America. Having been from her native country at the age of 19, she has lived between Argentina and France since her youth, two territories that nourish her multicultural identity and artistic sensitivity.

A graphic designer by training, it is the practice of graphic design that naturally led her to painting. Early on, she developed a particular attention to color and form, which she explores through abstraction and composition. Her first professional steps in visual arts gave her the rigor of construction, which she now associates with gestural and intuitive freedom.

Through her travels, she traverses the entire South American continent and gets close to indigenous communities, notably the Kogi and Mapuche. These encounters, as well as the sensory experience of the Amazon rainforest, deeply influence her work and fuel her commitment to cultural and environmental preservation.

Her painting is characterized by great chromatic vitality: the colors burst, vibrate, and come alive, carried by rounded, organic, or geometric shapes. Each canvas is a dynamic and modifiable composition, where shapes seem to assemble and disassemble to create a visual language in perpetual motion.

Mona Colombia invites the viewer to look differently: each work offers several possible readings, hidden stories to discover. Her art becomes a space for dialogue, between memory and present, nature and humanity, emotion and poetry.
