Born in 1973, Etienne Buraud lives and works in Paris. He a teacher and self-taught photographer. Through his formal research, he is committed to representing humans in their environment, and to express their geometric and sensitive interactions.
The Technical side of his works constitutes an aesthetic that is apparently classic, but the apprehension of the image is quickly disrupted by one or several elements offering a mystery to the viewer to solve. The representation of reality seems always to be swinging between mimesis and its sublimation. Could it be that the mimetic and "aesthetizing" function of the image is just an illusion?
