Biography

After her Art History studies at the University of Paris X-Nanterre, Fanny Dubois has devoted herself to her artistic practice since 2001. She started painting and then from 2004 onwards, produced objects and installations mainly in metal thread. Suspended sculptures in copper wire, installations made from white wire on white wall, lace, a game between wires and their shadow...

In 2008, during a residency in Brazil, she started to photograph Sao Paulo by night. At her return, she started using these images to make embroideries, and these works were exposed at the Chateau-Musee de Nemours in 2010. In 2010, she started painting painted these night views on velvet and rugs, mounted on wood; these works have been on show at the Pierrick Touchefeu Gallery.
