Jacques Villatte, born in Paris in 1937. Throughout his career: numerous solo and group exhibitions in Paris, in the provinces and abroad: Switzerland, Germany, USA, Mexico, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Borneo, Brunei. Member of the major Parisian salons (Grand Palais), Vice-President of the Artistes Français 1997), numerous prizes and medals including the Silver Medal of the City of Paris, Silver Medal of the Artistes Français, Taiyo-Bijutsu Prize (Japan), exhibited in numerous Cultural Centers, F.I.A.C., International Biennials, Contemporary Art Meetings. Public auctions Paris: Drouot Montaigne, Drouot Richelieu. Musée Verra Saint-Germain en Laye, Musée de Tulle, Tokyo Metropolitan Museum, Museum of Arts Downtown Los Angeles, Contemporary Art Center in Chihuahua, Inba Art Museum in Ciudad-Juarez Mexico.

Featured in several reference works, including the Bénézit. The specialized press has devoted many pages to him... and laudatory articles have appeared at each of his exhibitions, both in France and abroad. In a dedication, René Huyghe (of the Académie Française), the great art historian, wrote "to the painter Villatte, who knows the meaning of art, and knows how to create, to Jacques Villatte, who knows how to use the powers of the image".
