Biography

Cyril Kongo, French contemporary artist born in 1969 in Toulouse. He is recognized for his urban art and dynamic paintings, initially emerging from graffiti. His evolution towards studio painting is inspired by his graphic language developed in the streets. Childhood in Vietnam and adolescence in Kongo (Brazzaville) influenced his choice of artist name. In 2009, he shone during the exhibition "T.A.G au Grand Palais" with two major pieces, including "Tag au Grand Palais" directed by Pierre Guillien. His first solo exhibition "From the street springs light" at Claude Kunetz's Wallworks gallery presented 30 of his masterpieces.

This exhibition marked the beginning of a lasting collaboration with Hermès, symbolized by the creation of a silk scarf. Kongo has also explored the art of crystal, collaborating with Daum to produce a series called "Cristal Bomb", merging his art with crystal into unique creations. In addition, he collaborated with Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, around the theme of ancient Egypt. Kongo exhibited at the Grande Arche during the exhibition "Kongo on the roof of La Défense", the first urban art exhibition in this space. This retrospective of his work and his encounters at a height of 110 meters was a true artistic journey.
