Eva Czaplicki

A body and soul sculptor, the body in tension is at the center of his art. She seeks the soul through the body. Spirit through bodily transcendence, existence through physical sensation. Dualism is the source of his inspiration and influence of his philosophical studies. Eva works clay with a devouring passion. She is chained to this earth as to the act of creation. She models as she breathes and she breathes when she sculpts. The clay flows through his veins and escapes under his phalanges to give birth to creatures neither terrestrial, nor aquatic, nor lunar which escape him and thus find their own freedom.
