Born in 1970 in Marseille, France.

Lives and works in Montpellier.

Seb.M - Sébastien Masse - exhibits his work in the South of France, in Paris and abroad, especially in Germany where he is very successful.

After a DEA in Art History, the practice of painting has become a necessity for him.

His vision of the world, his look at current events constitute the starting point of his work of narrative figuration.

He bases his research on the reconstruction of images from advertising posters, Comics, Cinema, Literature in order to solicit our critical look at images of reality.

He began by working in acrylic and then very quickly used the mixed technique of collage with inks.

In his exploration of collage, his technique involves at least painting and drawing, the founding elements of each composition. He confronts his drawings cut out with a scalpel to a whole universe of fragmented images gleaned from magazines, newspapers and other media.

He thus mixes the concrete reality and the marvelous, the here and there, the non-contemporary and the current, the identifiable and the bizarre. His compositions are characterized by surrounded characters inscribed in a very poetic temporality where the intoxication and the vertigo of "adventurous journeys" - according to Walter Benjamin - are imprinted in the eye of the spectator, awakening his imaginations.

Since 2014, Seb.M has been exploring new territories by approaching sculpture and volume collage, the assembly of diverted, glued objects. He continues to develop this technique on larger formats pursuing the spiral that extends and contracts between the real and a certain surrealist representation.
