"My goal is not so much the mastery of the landscape as the pictorial escapade that it arouses. Matter and light allow us to experience the power of color and its narrative sequences. The zones of non-figuration, as well as a quasi-permanence of the floral element, generate a tension that gives its frame to the canvas. But the escapade remains off-screen. Mysterious, it is what allows us to question our relationship to the world."
