Biography

I have been practising photography since 1962.

The transition from film to digital has given me new tools to deepen my visual expression and move away from simply reproducing reality, in favour of a more sensitive and emotional approach.

My work also gives prominence to the human figure, approached with humour and kindness. Studio still life photography, with its technical rigour, is a particularly stimulating field of experimentation for me. I am also developing an increasingly assertive practice of impressionist photography, notably through ICM (Intentional Camera Movement) and multiple exposures.

SERENITY: Reinforcing emotions by simplifying images. In classic landscape photography, the eye is sometimes overwhelmed by too much presence: details scattered in the grass or on the sand, a wave that is too precise... All these small distractions break the momentum and prevent emotion from flowing. When faced with the real world, our gaze does something different: it erases, simplifies, lingers on the essential and lets the imagination complete the picture. The brain reinvents what it sees, faithful not to the scene, but to the
feeling it evoked. It is this invisible part, this reinvented memory, that I have sought to bring to life in these images.
