Ralouka Montesi

A world without perspectives is a world without a future.  Sometimes we feel like aliens in a foreign land and want to understand it and see it differently. We begin to dream of a paradigm shift that reverses the process of degradation and alteration.

In her creative process, Ralouka Montesi works to expose images from a different point of view and perspective, which can either come from her imagination or from moments of reflection. A reality that appears invisible and yet is so real present, so  obvious.  All we need to do is to stop and pay attention to the signs and to listen to the silence within ourselves, in all living species and in nature. This silence is never empty but always full of answers and hopes.

Ralouka Montesi is a British photographer of Lebanese origin. Surviving a long war as a child has an indelible impact on her vision of life as a temporary and fragile reality. Danger, murder, loss and death were part of a daily bread that became a series of inherent and less impressive events after a few years.

After a degree in Advertising Marketing, Ralouka Montesi left Lebanon like many Lebanese of her generation, to travel the world. She has lived in enriching and inspirational places such as India, Italy, France, USA and UK where she is currently based.

Her extensive traveling and unique experiences played a big role in shaping her view on life and inevitably reflected in the style of her photographs.

Ralouka Montesi artistic statement main focus are on psychological, philosophical and metaphysical themes through abstract, and experimental street photography. Her works are exhibited in different countries (Italy, UK, France and Lebanon) and are a part of private collections in the United Kingdom, Italy and in Lebanon.
