Biography
A face, a light, an expression, a scene or sometimes simply an idea or a text: since 2009, I have been drawing from what stops me, from what comes back to memory and from what I want to make exist differently.
I built my practice around portraiture and realistic drawing, then enriched my path with art history, applied arts, photography, and different visual techniques. This research taught me to observe, to understand light, contrasts, matter, and above all to look at the details that are not always immediately noticed.
Hyperrealism long occupied a central place in my work. It remains an essential technical basis today, but no longer an obligatory destination. I continue to seek precision when it serves the image, while allowing more room for composition, imperfection, color, surrealism, and freer forms.
Portraiture remains very present, without being a limit. My work draws from faces as much as from music, cinema, popular culture, everyday images, dreams or simply ideas that accumulate and just want to emerge.
Graphite, charcoal, black stone, white pencil, pastel, paint, collage or mixed media: I move from one medium to another depending on what the work demands. Some remain very close to reality. Others fragment, displace or transform it.
Today, I want to go further, freer and further, to confront classical techniques with contemporary approaches, with color, light and technology, without losing what has always been at the start of my work: observation, detail and presence.
For me, going beyond reality no longer necessarily means trying to reproduce it even better. Reality is my starting point. Imagination is my destination.

Title : Biography
Subtitle : A technical, visual, and self-taught journey.
First influences
Born in 1989 in Vesoul, Jérémy Morin grew up with music. Piano, guitar, cinema and popular culture early on accompany his taste for the image and creation.
Music remains very present in his daily life and in his work. It almost constantly accompanies his studio days, nourishes certain works and influences both their rhythm and their atmosphere.
A technical and visual journey off the beaten track
His path does not follow the classic route of art schools. It first heads towards the technical trades of live performance, before joining the digital field.
For fourteen years, he held different positions, from visual creation to development and production management. A career that brings him method, autonomy and a taste for experimentation, but which gradually moves personal creation away from the center of his daily life.
Drawing as an anchor point
In 2009, while living in Paris, he began to draw regularly.
His first subjects come naturally from music and cinema: known faces, strong expressions, personalities that make him want to understand how far he can push the drawing.
Year after year, he learns alone, experiments with mediums and develops a practice that is increasingly precise, mainly around portraiture, graphite, charcoal, black stone and black and white.
From reality to a freer practice
Drawing remained for a long time a practice carried out in parallel with his professional career, but in 2025, Jérémy Morin officially launches his artist-author activity and sets up RealEsthetics near Vesoul, in Haute-Saône.
Hyperrealism, which long constituted the heart of his learning, remains an important basis for his work. But it is no longer the destination.
His practice is evolving today towards freer compositions, surrealism, color, mixed media and more ambitious formats. Precision remains present when it serves the image, but is no longer an imposed rule for every work.
This evolution also marks a more personal change: after long seeking to master reality, he now uses this mastery to try to go elsewhere.
Reality is his starting point. Imagination is his destination.
