Kouang C

Charles Kouang aka "Kouang C" is a self-taught French artist of Cameroonian origin, born in 1981 who lives and works in Paris. A former advertiser, he began his artistic career at the age of thirty-two, driven by his revelation for abstract art, notably with the theory of "spirituality in art" by Wassily Kandinsky as a leading figure or even Abstract Expressionism, movement post-war, from which the avant-garde artists Willem de Kooning, Jackson Pollock came.

His work is characterized by "comb" strokes applied to the canvas like an extension of his hand, expressive brush strokes, granulated materials that form attractive reliefs and vibrant colors highlighted by the space that to keep busy. From his canvases, he brings forth intense fragments destined to awaken the viewer's unconscious.

His works question the issues that surround us, such as human relationships, social influence and the primacy of the individual. Thanks to his freedom of expression and his approach to volume, Kouang C delivers in his paintings, his vision of society with energy, where themes intersect and intermingle to open up to a strong spiritual dimension, graphically transcribed.
