Jocelyne Deschamps-Kus is an illustrator painter who lives and works in Lyon. “Painting is a profound means of expression which often begins after an accident in life. When words choke in the throat, the brushes take over. Some compose with words, others with music, painters compose with colors. Life is a monochrome canvas made up of both bright periods and unbearable periods. If my subjects are sometimes violent, death, abortion, death penalty, they can also be funny and carefree but they are always an integral part of life. As for the bright colors, they are the reflection of fire, flowers, joy, dynamism and I like to abuse them! After working for a few years in black and white, then in ink, then with pastels, she also mixed her creations with other materials, paper, buttons, collages. For the past two years, she has turned to acrylic on canvas, because this brilliant painting corresponds to her search for intense and strong colors. ”
