Biography
Self-taught, Patrice Murciano built himself far from the classic fine arts courses, using his mother's makeup from the age of 6 to draw portraits. It multiplies styles and techniques, which are all exploratory avenues, as many ways of conceiving the True, the Beautiful and the Just. From Courbisme to Gribouillisme, from Pop Grunge to New Pop, he gives us his truths with sincerity. With New Pop, his work is an explosion of “primordial energy” that emanates from Light (white backgrounds) or Chaos (black backgrounds), drips and colors, enhanced with scribbling (quick gesture like a large signature) . Just as the Moon brings light in the darkness, its universe is a booster of positive energy in a world in crisis… This all feminine Moon comes to counterbalance the vision of a world where rationality and calculation prevail. To the solar intelligible, Patrice Murciano prefers the sensitive lunar ... His drips are only the reflection of the eternal movement of Life, like the skull that sits in his studio: nothing is static, nothing is fixed, nothing is 'is smooth… The New Pop is certainly the style that best matches his complex personality: a shock wave!
