Jean-Luc Tisserand

Born in Montreuil in 1954, he lives on the banks of the Marne. He discovered sculpture forty years ago through a friend who introduced him to the first rudimentary stone-carving techniques. After years of parenthesis in 1998, he returned to this universe, which gradually established itself as a passion and ended up inhabiting it as a desire for creation. He made the choice in 2008; to bring forward the date of the end of his professional activity and to devote himself fully to sculpture. He successively “shaped” himself in sculptors' and drawing workshops where he worked on the poses of “live models”. This period of learning allowed him to master the material, the gesture and especially to sharpen his gaze. An essential step, according to him, before the affirmation of his “creative identity”. He feels guided by an inner strength with the desire to understand and overcome technical obstacles. In this spirit of discovery, he wanted to approach molding, glass, wood, wax, raku and even chasing. He was welcomed for two months in a foundry and his career was enriched by encounters, sources of sharing, generosity and transmissions. His inspiration has been oriented in recent years towards animal art that he deals with Humanity.
