Born in Cherbourg in 1963, trained at the Ecole Estienne (Paris), Claire Bianchi initially got involved in a graphic designing career. By the 1990s, she devoted herself entirely to painting. She lives and works in Ile-de-France on the banks of the Seine.
Water is a very common element of her paintings, as she is fascinated by its reflections. "letting the rhythm of water catch me by a surprise is something I constantly look for in my paintings. It's important for me to keep the same water movements in my gestures while I color”.
Right from her first walks along the Seine, like her trips around the Scandinavian lakes, Claire Bianchi brings about a limitless space with an enormity of colors. Depth, surface, verticality make her gradually expand her formats and touch the shore of abstraction.
This perpetual search, whether fluid or expressionist, embellishes her humanitarian and generous gesture.
